Get out of your head and into your heart

There’s something about nature that never fails to soothe my soul. I don’t say that in a cheesy way - it genuinely alters my state every time. I can remember some time after my brother and sister died, going for a run in the park and having this overwhelming realisation of how old the trees were. I stopped and looked at them in awe, and thought about how my existence and all that had happened to me was just a spot in time compared to the length of time they had been here, and will continue to be here. It made me feel so small and insignificant, and yet deeply connected and comforted by nature.

I guess I could call it my spirituality. The forest as my church :)

I took a client out to the park for a ‘Reclaim your true nature session’ last week, and I wanted to try and convey to you the magic of what happened.

My client got interested in art last year and has been going to a painting class. They showed me some of their creative projects - beautiful watercolours of flowers. They loved going to the class, but felt unmotivated and uninspired to create at home.

We slowly walked through the beautiful end of summer trees and flowers whilst tuning into our senses.

Pausing to take in the macro view of the skyline, and focusing our eyes on the small details of the leaves.

We picked up pine cones and brushed our faces.

We tuned in to the sound of bristling trees in the wind and seagulls flying above.

It wasn’t long before they broke the silence to tell me about all the ways they could capture the details and colours of our walk. Excitedly jotting down their ideas in a note book to take home.

I pointed out that the reason they had been lacking in motivation and inspiration was because they had disconnected from their body, their heart and the environment.

They smiled.

Their eyes softened.

They were back.

Embodied.

Reconnected.

We are nature.

It is where we belong.

Our habitual spirals of thinking get interrupted and broken down when a bird flies past. Stopping to appreciate the ancientness of the trees brings perspective to our lives. Training our senses to absorb the safety of what’s here, right now regulates our nervous system and reconnects us to our hearts.

And I’m here to remind you of this. To give your whole body the experience that it is longing for – to be reconnected with your inner and outer world.

To be reconnected with your true nature.

If you are ready to join me, let’s chat. You can read all about my ‘Reclaim your true nature’ experiences here and book a call with me here.
